The Effect of Amino Acids on Serum and Urine Creatine.

چکیده
There is now unequivocal evidence that creatine is formed from glycine, arginine, and methionine (1). It is equally well established that creatine can be transformed into creatinine and excreted in this form by the kidneys (2). Creatine is also concerned with the intermediary metabolism of carbohydrate. By a photometric modification of Folin's method, devised by Peters (3), Tierney and Peters (4) demonstrated that the serum of normal men contained measurably significant amounts of creatine. They found that the serum creatine was elevated in patients with hyperthyroidism. Creatinuria was almost invariably associated with concentrations of serum creatine greater than 0.6 mgm. per cent, suggesting that creatine, presumably filtered in the renal glomeruli,. is completely reabsorbed in the tubules when its concentration in the serum is less than 0.6 mgm. per cent. The present paper deals with the serum creatine and creatine excretion in various pathological conditions and after certain induced physiological disturbances.

Effect of reducing 3.2% dietary protein level on the growth performance and immunity of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with supplementation of multi amino acids
Reducing dietary protein content in fish feeds will reduce cost of production if growth performance can be maintained. In this study, we assessed the effects of reduced dietary protein content from 33.5% to 27.4% with ideal amino acids profile on the growth, immune parameters, intestinal microvilli length and total ammonia nitrogen discharge of tilapia. After 8 weeks of feeding, growth performa...

Background: Diabetic nephropathy is a chronic kidney disease and of more common complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The current diagnostic markers of diabetic nephropathy, albumin and creatinine, are only able to catch the disease in the stage of renal damage. The aim of this study is evaluation of targeted metabolomics of serum amino acids to identify the association of the changes of s...
متن کاملAssessment of Serum Amino Acid Chromatography in Children with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases
Background: Given the important role of amino acids in regulating many metabolic pathways of the body and considering the scarcity of markers for the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and its differentiation, we aimed to investigate the status of serum amino acids chromatography in children with IBD. Materials and Methods This case-control study was conducted among children with pri...

متن کاملThe Effect Consumption of Pre-Exercise Branched Chain Amino Acids Consumption With Vitamin E Supplementation on Muscular Damage
Background& purpose: Today, among athletes, the use of amino acid supplements with the aim of reducing muscle injuries is more important than in the past. the aim of this study was to survey the effect of branched chain amino acids (BCAA) consumption before exhaustive exercise along with 1-month vitamin E supplementation on lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase (CK) levels of active f...
